Blockchain technology. Cryptocurrency. Environmental activism. Bees and art. Though a disparate amalgam of subjects, BeeDAO – Beecoin mixes them together in an innovative, inventive way that empowers humans and nonhumans to make improvements to the environments we share.

Taking place for 100 days during Documenta15 in Kassel, Germany, this creative endeavor conceived by ZK/U (Zentrum für Kunst und Urbanistik) invites 15 local beekeepers to install sensors in their hives, serve as delegates representing their bees’ needs, and propose ways that they — and other BeeDAO members — can act to ensure healthy landscapes for bees and humans alike.
